Hakanto Contemporary has conceived the first monographic exhibition devoted to Daniel Rakotoseheno dit Dany Be (1935-2021), a pioneer of photojournalism in Madagascar.

Imagined with the complicity of Rado Rakotoseheno, Dany Be's son, this exhibition brings together nearly 130 images that show a whole section of Malagasy history, as well as the sensitive universe of Dany Be, who witnessed the greatest events that marked the country, which had just become independent when he began his career. 

Driven by the fight for freedom of opinion and expression, and the transmission of knowledge to young people, Dany Be also became an important social, cultural and professional player. This exhibition pays tribute to all the facets of this character.
