It is in the tradition of Hakanto Contemporary exhibitions to question context, history, the present and also the future.
In this new opus, the exhibition explores various themes around the notion of homeland, country and land.
"Ny fitiavanay" is also (and above all?) an act of love, a multi-hued declaration of love from 26 Malagasy artists to their beloved country, just as we celebrate 60 years of independence. How can we make the present out of this anniversary? How do we undo history?
