Jacques Rabemananjara, a French-speaking Malagasy poet involved in the negritude movement, is also a political leader in Madagascar. The result of meticulous work by Dominique Ranaivoson, this is the first book published in Madagascar to be supported by the Yavarhoussen Fund. 

It includes, in the order of their publication, all his collections and poems published in magazines, enabling us to follow his extraordinary intellectual and aesthetic trajectory across languages and cultures. A critical apparatus places it in its socio-political and cultural context.

Rabemananjara's entire poetic oeuvre, whose artistic, historical and political importance has had a decisive impact on the country's history, is now available in Madagascar.
